Working With Vellum

Our vellum will work on any laser printer, and most ink jet printers. When using an inkjet printer, select the printing mode that lays down the least amount of ink. Be sure to let the ink dry before handling the sheet.

Vellum paper can be as delicate as tissue paper, or as heavy as a cardstock depending on the weight of the sheet. Either way, it needs to be handled carefully. Vellum paper must be scored in order to make a clean, crisp fold. Creases and smudges are very noticeable, and if the paper gets bent it will scar the sheet.

Remember that the heavier the weight of the vellum, the less transparent it is. The color of the vellum also ef- fects its translucency. Without pointing out the obvious, a dark colored vellum will be less translucent than a light colored sheet. Keep this in mind if you are planning to use the vellum as on overlay.
