Folding Tips

Folding paper is an art and it’s important to do it right. Though most text weights can be folded easily, we still recommend scoring and then folding for a perfect crease every time. Bone folders/scorers are used to create a “channel” in the paper. To score paper, place a ruler on the area to be scored and draw the point of a bone folder firmly along the edge a few times. Exactos and dull kitchen knives aren’t recommended, as you may cut too deep into the paper or damage the sheet. Once you’ve scored the sheet, fold it at the crease, always folding toward the ridge or bulge in the paper, and run the flat side of a bone folder (creaser) across the crease. This makes a crisp, clean fold.
